HubPharm already runs its fulfilment centre on solar power and delivers on electric bikes. With SolarCare, the community programme of our Powering Hope initiative, we take that power to health facilities that live with power cuts: solar lighting, solar fans and solar medicine fridges, so mothers can deliver in the light, patients can rest in the heat, and life-saving medicines stay cold.
Plus training, maintenance and a medicine-supply link to HubPharm.

In many primary health centres, a power cut is not an inconvenience. It decides whether a baby is delivered safely, whether a vaccine still works, and whether a nurse can keep caring through the night.
Night deliveries and emergencies are handled with phone torches and lanterns, which raises the risk for mother and baby.
Vaccines, insulin and other heat-sensitive medicines need steady cold storage. Without it, stock is wasted and patients are turned away.
In the hot season, wards with no fan become hard to bear for newborns, older patients and the staff caring for them.
Generators eat into tight budgets that should go to staff and medicines, and they fail when fuel runs out.
HubPharm's main fulfilment centre runs on solar power, and our deliveries go out on electric bikes. That keeps life-saving medicines moving when the grid fails, and keeps their cold chain intact from our solar hub to the patient's hands.
Powering Hope is more than a green energy milestone. It is a lifeline for people facing the most frightening diagnoses of their lives, who cannot afford a single break in treatment.
Four values guide how we run Powering Hope, inside HubPharm and in every community we serve.
We are open about the power and cold-chain gaps in African healthcare, and give honest tracking for high-value medicines.
We share our environmental, social and governance results, and show how green logistics supports adherence and outcomes.
We keep breaking supply-chain bottlenecks so rare and orphan medicines reach patients, however remote they are.
We understand what a treatment break means to someone with cancer, stroke or infertility, and we protect their medicine to ease that fear.
Powering Hope grows HubPharm's own climate-resilient care and, at the same time, takes that power into public clinics and low-income communities.
A simple, durable kit sized for primary health centres, maternity clinics and rural dispensaries, installed and maintained with local technicians.
Bright, efficient LED lighting where it matters most.
Efficient DC fans that run straight from solar and battery.
Reliable cold storage for heat-sensitive medicines.
More than hardware. Every SolarCare site also gets staff training, a maintenance plan, and a direct link to HubPharm for specialty medicine supply, pharmacist support and Afiya, our AI health companion on WhatsApp.
A health worker, community leader or partner nominates a facility below.
We check the site, power needs, cold-chain needs and safety, with local authorities.
Certified local technicians install the kit and train staff to use and care for it.
We follow up on performance and maintenance, and connect the facility to HubPharm.
We are starting where HubPharm already works and where partners can help us reach facilities fastest.
Our home base, starting with primary health centres and maternity clinics in underserved communities.
Community health facilities working with local partners and health authorities.
Rural health centres, delivered with partners on the ground.
HubPharm Africa is chronic care infrastructure. Power is part of that infrastructure: a clinic cannot store insulin or vaccines it cannot keep cold.
Our supply chain and pharmacists support patients across Africa and the diaspora.
Facilities connect to Afiya and our care team for refills, advice and follow-up.
We will publish installations, uptime and impact so partners see exactly what their support achieves.
We are building SolarCare in clear phases, so partners can see what their support achieves at every step.
Powering Hope's community programme is in its launch phase. We are inviting funders, green finance and impact investors, and solar partners to fund, supply and deliver the first installations with us.
Sponsor a facility or a cluster of facilities, with clear reporting on every installation.
Supply equipment, installation and maintenance with a partner that knows health facilities.
Help us identify priority facilities and align with national energy and health plans.
Adopt a clinic in the communities where your staff and customers live.
Tell us about it. Health workers, community leaders and partners can all nominate. We review every nomination and contact shortlisted facilities for an assessment.
A few details are enough to start.
Handled under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. We only use them to follow up on this nomination.
What partners and health workers ask us most.
Our team will reply on WhatsApp.
Ask on WhatsAppYes. Our main fulfilment centre runs on solar power and our deliveries use electric bikes. Powering Hope builds on that, first to protect the cold chain for our own patients, and now to bring solar power to public clinics.
Public and not-for-profit primary health centres, maternity clinics, rural dispensaries and immunisation points in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic that face frequent power cuts or have no grid connection.
Our aim is for installations to be funded by partners and sponsors. Where a facility or community can contribute, for example to maintenance, we agree this openly during the assessment.
For vaccine storage we will prioritise solar refrigerators prequalified by WHO for immunisation, and work with immunisation programmes so facilities follow national cold-chain rules.
Certified local technicians install the kit, train staff and handle maintenance visits. Staff learn simple daily care, such as keeping panels clean.
We will report on every installation: where it is, what it powers, how reliably it runs and what changes for patients, alongside HubPharm's wider impact reporting.
The community programme is in its launch phase. We are confirming partners and first sites now. Nominate a facility or get in touch to be part of the first phase.
Fund a facility, supply the equipment or nominate a clinic. Together we can keep the lights, the fans and the cold chain on.
