Pharm. Tope Kareem, B.Pharm
Superintendent Pharmacist and Director of HubPharm Africa. Thirteen years in practice, and the pharmacist professionally accountable for every prescription this pharmacy dispenses.
What a Superintendent Pharmacist is actually responsible for
Under Nigerian pharmacy regulation, a licensed pharmacy premises must operate under the supervision of a named Superintendent Pharmacist. That person is professionally answerable for what the pharmacy dispenses. At HubPharm, that is Tope.
In practice it means she owns the standards that sit between an order arriving and a medicine leaving the building. Whether the prescription is valid. Whether the drug and dose are appropriate. Whether an interaction has been missed. Whether the product is genuine and has been stored correctly. Whether the patient has been counselled properly before they take it.
It also means the accountability is not diffuse. When a HubPharm pharmacist reviews your order, they are working to a standard that a named, registered professional has set and can be held to.

The checks behind every order
Prescription verification
Prescription only medicines are dispensed solely against a valid prescription from a registered prescriber. Where a prescription is unclear, incomplete or inconsistent with what we know of the patient, we contact the prescriber before dispensing.
Clinical review
A pharmacist checks drug, dose, route, duration and interactions before the order is released. Anything that does not check out is held, not shipped.
Product integrity
Medicines are sourced through licensed channels, checked on receipt, and stored to the manufacturer conditions including cold chain where required.
Counselling
Written directions accompany the medicine, and a pharmacist is reachable on WhatsApp for questions about how and when to take it.
Adverse event reporting
Suspected side effects reported to us are documented and escalated to the prescriber and, where appropriate, to NAFDAC pharmacovigilance.
Refill continuity
Chronic therapy patients are tracked so a refill is prepared before the current supply runs out, because a treatment gap is a clinical event and not an administrative one.
If something goes wrong. Any concern about a medicine dispensed by HubPharm should be raised with our pharmacy team on WhatsApp at +234 705 050 5001 or by email to care@hubpharmafrica.com, and it is reviewed by the Superintendent Pharmacist. Our complaints and correction process is set out in our editorial and medical review policy.
Your medicine, checked by a named pharmacist
No patient should die or suffer because they cannot access life saving medicine, or because nobody checked it properly.
