Buy Permethrin Cream 5% (30g) Online – Prescription-Strength Scabies Treatment
Buy Permethrin Cream 5% (30g) online from HubPharm Africa, a PCN licensed specialty pharmacy. Permethrin 5% is a topical scabicide containing permethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid, used for the treatment of scabies caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. It is widely regarded as a first-line treatment for scabies in adults, adolescents and children.
Permethrin works by disrupting the nerve function of the scabies mite and its eggs, so that a single correctly applied overnight treatment clears most infestations. Because scabies spreads through prolonged skin-to-skin contact, everyone in the household and all close contacts should usually be treated at the same time, whether or not they are itching.
Every order is reviewed by a HubPharm pharmacist before dispatch. Our pharmacists will guide you on how much cream you need for your household, how to apply it correctly, and what to expect in the weeks after treatment. Same-day delivery within Lagos, 48 hours nationwide, and international shipping available.
Key Features
- First-Line Scabies Treatment: Permethrin 5% cream is recommended internationally as a first-choice topical treatment for scabies in adults and children.
- Kills Mites and Eggs: A single correctly applied treatment targets both the adult mites and their eggs, which is why one overnight application is often enough.

FAQ
What is Permethrin Cream 5% used for?
Permethrin Cream 5% is used to treat scabies, a skin infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. It is applied to the skin and left on overnight before being washed off.
How do I apply Permethrin Cream 5%?
Apply to clean, cool, dry skin. In adults and older children the cream is normally applied over the whole body from the neck down, including between the fingers and toes, under the fingernails and toenails, the groin, the buttocks and the soles of the feet. In infants, the elderly and anyone who is immunocompromised, the scalp, face, neck and ears may also need to be treated. Always follow the instructions given by your doctor or your HubPharm pharmacist.
How long should Permethrin Cream be left on the skin?
Permethrin 5% cream is usually left on for 8 to 14 hours, which is why it is normally applied at bedtime and washed off the following morning. Do not wash it off earlier than instructed.
Does one application of Permethrin cure scabies?
One correctly applied treatment clears most cases. A second application after 7 days is sometimes recommended, particularly in crusted scabies, in severe infestations, or where symptoms persist. Your pharmacist or doctor will advise.
Why am I still itching after using Permethrin Cream?
Itching can continue for 2 to 4 weeks after successful treatment. This is called post-scabetic itch and is an allergic reaction to dead mites and their debris in the skin. It does not automatically mean the treatment failed. Speak to a pharmacist if itching is worsening after 4 weeks or if new burrows appear.
Does everyone in my house need to be treated?
Usually yes. All household members and close physical contacts should be treated on the same day, even those with no symptoms, because scabies can be carried for weeks before itching begins. Treating only one person is the most common reason scabies keeps coming back.
How much Permethrin Cream do I need?
A 30g tube covers roughly one full-body application for an average adult, and larger adults may need more. A household of four adults will therefore usually need at least four tubes for one treatment round. Message a HubPharm pharmacist and we will calculate it with you before you order.
What should I do with bedding and clothing?
On the day of treatment, wash clothing, bedding and towels used in the previous three days at 60°C or higher and dry them hot. Items that cannot be washed can be sealed in a plastic bag for at least 72 hours.
Can children use Permethrin Cream 5%?
Permethrin 5% is used in children, but application in infants differs from adults and should only be done on medical advice. It is not generally recommended for infants under 2 months of age. Speak to a doctor or a HubPharm pharmacist before treating a baby or a young child.
Can I use Permethrin Cream during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Permethrin is often the preferred scabies treatment in pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it should only be used after speaking to your doctor or pharmacist so that your individual situation can be assessed.
What are the side effects of Permethrin Cream 5%?
The most common effects are mild and temporary: burning, stinging, tingling, itching, numbness, redness or dryness where the cream was applied. Stop use and seek medical advice if you develop a rash, swelling or difficulty breathing.
Where should Permethrin Cream not be applied?
Avoid the eyes, the inside of the mouth and nose, and other mucous membranes. If the cream gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Permethrin or Benzyl Benzoate, which is better for scabies?
Permethrin 5% is generally better tolerated and is usually preferred as first-line treatment. Benzyl benzoate is an effective alternative but more often causes skin irritation and burning, and typically requires repeated applications. A pharmacist can help you choose based on age, pregnancy status and skin condition.

Description
Permethrin Cream 5% (30g) – Full Product Information
Active ingredient: Permethrin 5% w/w, a synthetic pyrethroid scabicide.
Presentation: 30g tube of cream for topical use.
Indication: Treatment of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei infestation).
How Permethrin Works
Permethrin acts on the sodium channels in the nerve cell membrane of the scabies mite, causing paralysis and death of the mite and its eggs. Because it targets the eggs as well as the adult mites, a single thorough application is effective in the majority of uncomplicated cases.
Storage and Handling
Store below 25°C in the original tube, protected from light. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not freeze. Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the packaging. Return unused medicine to a pharmacy for safe disposal rather than placing it in household waste.
Safety Information
Do not use if you are allergic to permethrin, to any other pyrethroid or pyrethrin, or to chrysanthemums. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to broken, weeping or badly inflamed skin without medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, treating an infant under 2 months, or managing crusted (Norwegian) scabies, seek medical advice before use.
