How we write, check and correct our medicine information
HubPharm publishes information about prescription medicines, and people make decisions about their health from it. This page sets out who writes it, who checks it, what we base it on, what we will not do, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Named pharmacists, not anonymous content
Clinical content on this site is written and overseen by pharmacists registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria. Articles carry the name and registration number of the pharmacist who wrote them. Medicine pages carry the name of the Superintendent Pharmacist who supervises dispensing.
Where a page has been formally reviewed by a pharmacist, the page shows who reviewed it and on what date. Where it has not yet been reviewed, we show no review line at all. We would rather show you less than claim a check that did not happen.

What our medicine information is based on
Manufacturer prescribing information
The summary of product characteristics and the patient information leaflet supplied with the medicine are our first reference for indications, dosing, contraindications and side effects.
Regulatory and formulary sources
NAFDAC, the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, the British National Formulary, the World Health Organization, and recognised national treatment guidelines.
Peer reviewed literature
Where a claim goes beyond the label it is grounded in published clinical evidence, and we say what that evidence is rather than simply asserting it.
What we do not use. We do not base medicine information on marketing material, unverified online sources, or content generated without pharmacist review. Where artificial intelligence tools assist with drafting, the output is checked line by line by a pharmacist before publication, and no page is published on the strength of a machine draft alone.
What this information is not
Nothing on this site diagnoses a condition, replaces a consultation, or tells you to start, stop or change a medicine. It is written to help you understand a medicine that you or your prescriber are already considering, and to help you take it correctly and safely.
Prescription only medicines are dispensed solely against a valid prescription from a registered prescriber. We do not supply prescription medicines without one, and we do not issue prescriptions ourselves.
Commercial interest, stated plainly. HubPharm sells the medicines it writes about. That is a commercial interest and you should read our content knowing it. We manage it by writing to the manufacturer prescribing information rather than to a sales angle, by publishing contraindications and side effects on the same page as the buy button, and by declining to write persuasive claims the evidence does not carry. We are not paid by manufacturers to feature or favour any product.
How pages are kept current
Update dates are real
Every page shows when it was last updated. That date reflects an actual change to the page, not an automated refresh to make old content look new.
Review cycle
Medicine pages are reviewed when the manufacturer updates its prescribing information, when a regulator issues a safety communication, or at least every 24 months, whichever comes first.
Safety alerts
A NAFDAC or World Health Organization safety alert affecting a medicine we list is acted on ahead of the normal cycle, and the affected pages are updated or withdrawn.
Tell us when we are wrong
If you believe anything on this site is inaccurate, out of date or unclear, tell us. Send the page address and what you think is wrong to care@hubpharmafrica.com, or message our pharmacy team on WhatsApp at +234 705 050 5001.
A pharmacist reviews every report. We aim to acknowledge within one working day. Where a correction affects patient safety we correct the page immediately and, where we can identify affected patients, we contact them directly rather than waiting for them to notice.
Where a page has been corrected in a way that changes its clinical meaning, we say so on the page rather than editing it silently.
